August 11th-Protect PA against pipelines Quilt Project
It’s time consolidate & escalate community opposition to the Atlantic Sunrise pipeline.
On August 11, you are invited to get involved with the Protect PA Quilt Project. This is an ambitious, collaborative project that’s been brewing among some of us involved with Martic SOUL, Conestoga Community Group, and Lancaster Against Pipelines -for a couple months through some informal idea conversations.
The basic idea is to create a large scale quilt—in classic Lancaster fashion!—to serve as an organic expression of the hundreds, even thousands, of voices rejecting the Atlantic Sunrise proposal through our county. We’re inviting individuals, families, and local businesses to submit quilt squares celebrating what we most love about our land, our communities, our heritage here in Lancaster—values that are all being threatened by this damn pipeline. We have some dedicated, veteran quilters committed to helping us turn these quilt squares into a unified, concrete expression of our opposition—but we’re going to need all kinds of help to make this a success!
Will you come to Marticville Middle School on August 11th to get involved?
We will need all hands on deck, not just quilters!
We’re urging all of you to come to this meeting so we’re all holding a clear vision for this project & to see how we can all help. You don’t need to be a quilter. You don’t even need to be someone who sews. All you need to be is a supporter of our lives here in Lancaster County—and a resister of Williams’ pipeline that threatens our way of life.
